We are half an hour's drive from Kalamata airport, a major tourist hub with links from Athens, the UK and all over Europe.
Our favourite Aegean Airlines Fly from Heathrow to Athens (all year round) and from Athens to Kalamata (Daily May- End October), they also fly from Thessaloniki to Kalamata (Twice a week all year round). We usually drive from Athens as the motorway has been extended from Tripoli to Megalopoli and there is only one small mountain section now. Easily travelled in 3.5 - 4 hours. Aegean and Olympic both have good flight times from Heathrow - so you can avoid the horror of Gatwick at 4am on a Sunday morning in August.
Thomas Cook , Thomson's and Mytravel fly to Kalamata from Manchester, Birmingham & Gatwick airports on Sundays (til 3rd October). Click on the blue writing to transfer to the airline homepages.
Flights are also available from across UK to Athens all year round, Easyjet, British Airways, Olympic, KLM and BMI. We are 4 hours drive from Athens
Book early and you can get some great deals
From the Netherlands look for flights on Mondays from Amsterdam to Kalamata www.arke.nl
Comfortable Ferries from Venice and Ancona to Patras (Superfast, Anek and Minoan www.aferryto.com)
Alternative route for the intrepid, fly to Zante, hire a car at the airport, take 1 hour ferry to mainland and
3 hour drive from Kyllini.
For the intrepid non drivers, take a taxi from the airport to the Peloponese Bus stantion in central Athens (40 Euros) and take a comfortable coach from Athens to Kalamata. Buses from Athens run almost hourly from 4.45am until 22.45, its the E93X from Athens central bus station to Kalamata, takes 4 hours and cost circa 25euros. Its worth googling to check the timetable.
There are also regular buses from Kalamata to Koroni via Harokopio.
For the scenic route, you can travel from the Peloponnese Station in Athens to get a train to Kalamata. It is listed as one of the great train journeys of the world, incredibly beautiful, but it takes 6 hours, so take a picnic and some water.

Motorways from Athens airport via Corinth are first rate and continue all the way to Megalopoli. The road is slower from Megalopoli across one mountain section but a new motorway section is planned for summer 2011. It improves at Messini and is very good for the rest of the journey to Harokopio. .
Ideally all guests should hire a car to see all the sites in the area and take full advantage of the SaintFridays experience.

Directions to Saintfridays from Kalamata Airport
From Kalamata Airport Turn right on to the main road.
Go over a bridge and at the roundabout with Lidl / Champion (supermarkets) close by, take the last exit for Pylos / Koroni. Follow this road for nearly10 kms, and at the village of Rizomilos turn left following signs for Koroni . (the main road continues on to Pylos). Koroni is clearly sign-posted at this junction in Rizomilos.
Keep following signs for Koroni, through the villages of Petalidi, Kalamaki, Chrani, Episkopi, Ayios Andreas, Nea Koroni (this is not Koroni!) , Vounaria and Kompi. Then, eventually, you’ll be in the bigger village of Harokopio.
Go through the village, round a sharp left hand bend, another left hand bend around the church and a sharp right hand bend will then take you along a narrow street with first shops and the houses closing in on both sides. When you can see that these buildings are coming to an end, there is a turning on the left signed posted Gargarou Beach. There are a lot of signs there, including ours ( www.saintfridays.com ), most or all advertise villas to let. Go up this narrow village road, sharp left hander, sharp right hander, sharp left hander, along for a little past a big steel council bin, and sharp right hander and up past a cream coloured Church and a sharp left hand bend, now you are leaving the village and heading down towards the sea passed a few leafy and tree shrouded villas. The road continues gradually down and then at another church (Ayia Paraskevi, Saint Friday) it takes another sharp right and becomes steeper, suddenly you’ll see the sea again, and another big steel council bin on a sharp left hand corner. The next right turning is Saint Fridays, look for the white sign, follow the track for 100m and you have arrived.
